Early Warning Symptoms for Type 2 Diabetes

Diabetes is a medical condition related to a group of metabolic diseases and is represented by high blood glucose % (high blood sugar). Type 2 Diabetes is considered common as 90 out of 100 patients suffer from it. An Endocrinologist in Jaipur should be immediately consulted if the following symptoms are diagnosed:

Increased Thirst – In case you drink a lot of water at short intervals or feel thirsty all the time, You should   consider it as the first warning sign towards Type 2 diabetes.

Increased Hunger (especially after eating) – Feeling hungry even after a full meal, is a symptom of hyperglycemia or high blood glucose levels. Since the glucose in the blood is not converted to energy due to lack of insulin, it leads to feeling hungry even after eating a meal.

Dry mouth – Dry mouth often happens when the saliva gland malfunctions. It may also be due to high blood sugar. Having a dry mouth can worsen the side effects of diabetes.

Headaches – A pain in the head can happen due to different reasons. High or low blood sugar level can be one of the causes pointing to Type 2 diabetes.

Blurred vision – The lenses in the eye swell, thus affecting a person’s ability to see properly. It may not be a condition caused due to weak eyesight but because of high blood glucose levels also known as Hyperglycemia.

Fatigue – If you feel weak, tired and exhausted all the time then it may be a precursor to diabetes, lack of energy even after proper sleep and healthy diet, is a symptom that indicates that a person may be suffering from high blood glucose levels.

Frequent Urination or Urine Infections – If the amount of sugar in blood increases. The kidneys do not function properly leading to excessive urine formation in the body. This can also lead to urine infections.

Unexplained Weight Loss (even after proper healthy diet) – IF you consume & maintain a proper diet but still notice a periodic lose in weight, Check the insulin levels in the body. Insufficient insulin prevents the conversion of blood glucose to energy hence the cells do not get sufficient energy. This leads to cells burning the energy stored in fat and muscle of the body causing sudden weight loss.
