With the changes in people’s attitudes and thought processes, their lifestyles also change. Lifestyle refers to a way of living and it comprises of the characteristics, behaviors, activities, etc. of people. Lifestyle is a core component of the health and wellness of individuals. In support of that, it is worth mentioning that 60 percent of the factors affecting an individual’s health are correlated to lifestyle.

Diet is also an important part of lifestyle and as such has a direct bearing on the health patterns of persons. Junk food, a diet lacking sufficient nutrients, smoking, consumption of alcohol, intake of drugs, etc. are vital factors that affect a person’s physical health, and mental health at times.

The next factor influencing health is exercise. Not only good intake of food, but also proper exercise is necessary to ensure that all muscles are flexed, and the blood circulation is more regulated and consistent.

Also an essential ingredient of a happy and healthy lifestyle is sufficient sleep. Lack of sleep causes several psychological disorders and affects health. As a result of the growing demands of the competitive populace, constant improvements and growth have become an integral part of lifestyle and as such stress has too. Such stress can be tackled only with good sleep, yoga and meditation.

Also, it is highly important that self medication for health problems is avoided as it leads to an unhealthy lifestyle.

The growth and development in science and technology also forces us to keep up with its pace and thus we are in constant touch with various updates to ensure that we don’t fall short of the requisite qualifications to compete in this world defined by cut-throat competition. It must be noted that heavy usage of mobile phones and computers affect the sleep habits of individuals and as a result, affect their health too.

Also, consanguineous factors that are a part of one’s lifestyle too, affect his health.Thus, it is imperative that we focus on improving our lifestyles and routines, so that no one, but we ourselves reap benefits in future.
